Bbae Scribbles
Ryun Wood is a trans non binary artist born in New Jersey USA, and raised in central North Carolina. They have been writing rhymes and stories about their experiences since 2003 while grappling with homelessness and disability in hostile living situations. It was during this time Ry earned the name ‘’Scribbles’’ from the people who they routinely crashed with.
Ry has long found peace through music and dance. Their partner emigrated them to Sydney in 2013 so they could be together, which is where Ry started training as a breakdance with Sydney’s 143 Liverpool Street Familia. Ry moved to Melbourne for work shortly before COVID, and with nowhere to dance during the lockdowns, dug out their old rhyme sheets. Over a decade of experiences have shaped their love of hiphop and the culture. With that, Ry has begun pouring themselves into rap with the help of friends they’ve made through Australia’s breakdance scene.
